Drawing has been a passion since childhood. The early years in rural western Washington State ingrained a deep reverence for the beauty and complexity of the natural world.
My drawings and paintings are motivated by the desire to share a view of the wonder ever-present around us.
In addition to graphite, I work with colored pencil, oil pastel, watercolor, gouache, ink, silver point, oil and acrylic, wood and stone carving, and pyrography with ink on gourds.
Professionally, I have worked in advertising, graphic design, illustration, portraiture and teaching. My prints, paintings and gourds are in private collections in Australia, Africa, Bali, Japan, Tuva and the United States.
